Christian Ministry. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rules all things “by the Word of his power” and that our prayer “Your kingdom come” is answered through the ministry of his Church.

“Christ gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love” (Ephesians 4:11-16).

The Lord’s Day. Our ministry begins on Sunday - the Lord’s Day - a holy day of physical rest and spiritual fellowship with God and his people. We begin by meeting with God in worship and continue with Sunday school - a time of fellowship and discipleship for all ages. We end the day as it began, meeting with God in evening worship and fellowship of the saints. We offer a staffed nursery for children under the age of 3 during both worship services and Sunday school.

Corporate Worship. We believe that worship is a meeting with God. God calls us to be with him and renew his covenant of grace. He does this by the power of his Word and Spirit. He speaks. We respond. Our worship services follow that biblical pattern of dialogue between God and his people.

The Sacraments. We believe there are two sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They are “means” through which God communicates his covenant mercies and grace. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper each week. Visitors are welcome to join us - if you have been baptized, have made a public profession of faith, and are a faithful member of a Bible believing church.

Psalms and Hymns. We sing Psalms because they are songs inspired by God himself. We sing the best of hymns - old and new - because they express the rich truths of the Bible. Our God is awesome and we love to sing about the manifold ways in which He loves and cares for His people.

Sunday School and Catechism. We are devoted to Jesus Christ - the Word of God incarnate. To that end, we read the Word, study the Word, pray, sing, and live the Word of God together. One of the ways we cultivate this Word-centered life is through Sunday school and catechism for ages 3 through adult. Classes meet each Sunday from 11:30-12:15am.

Christian Fellowship. We are committed to share the bitter and sweet of life, “rejoicing with those who rejoice, weeping with those who weep.” This sharing of life is grounded in the Lord’s Day and extends to every day - at home, school, and work - as we live the Word together. For information about Bible study or Men’s and Women’s book groups, please contact Rev. Missions. Grace Church is called to serve the peoples of Portland and beyond. This means we seek Christian discipleship among our congregation, neighbors, and the world. We do this through corporate worship, Sunday school, family worship, church planting, and cross-cultural missions. We share this ministry as part of the United Reformed Churches in North America.

Church Planting. Our church plant, Peace United Reformed Church, is meeting regularly for worship in Vancouver, Washington. If you are interested in visiting or getting more information about the church, visit their website at: https://peaceurc.com/
